MRS Bob (Wedding Post 1)

Hello my lovelies.
Yes, yes I know it's been over a month but I have a very good excuse this time..... guess what??

I GOT MARRIED.

Yes, my darlings, I am now officially, Mrs Bob.

Our wedding was a few weeks ago and we have just returned from our honeymoon. I was going to do a blog post from the beach by the Indian Ocean but then I came to my senses and just carried on sunbathing, drinking cocktails and having sex with my husband (oh, stop it, you know I love you really).

The wedding was so lovely. As you may know, I have been a spontaneously weeping bag of crap these last few months but all the nightmarish planning and drama just melted away as soon as I saw my lovely Bob's face at the end of the aisle waiting for me, smiling away.
He was absolutely brilliant during the ceremony. I, of course, was a bag of nerves but he was relaxed as ever, making everybody laugh with his hands in his pockets and incredibly casual delivery of our vows. By the end, everyone was very much at ease. So much so that, when asked if I took Bob to be my husband, I just said "Oh, all right then."

Almost everything came together perfectly and, the things that didn't just didn't matter in the end. The whole thing was a bit of a blur but I do remember thinking how pretty it was. I spent a lot of time on the look of the day and was very particular about having lots of little touches. I think it was rather beautiful, if I do say so myself.

Note:
Now, I have had to employ the use of some very sophisticated cloaking devices to protect people's privacy in the following photographs; but they are so seamless I doubt you'd even notice them really.

And this was how we dressed the reception:

What's that? Personal menus with everyone's individual menu choice on them?? Hell yes we did.
I am so pleased with all the art work and branding my designer friend produced for us as his wedding gift... it really made the whole day look amazing. There is no way we could have done this on our own, so my darling, I thank you.. you fabulous excellent human being you.

Also, for any of you who were wondering how the fresh fudge a Jew and Muslim get married, I thought I'd give you a peek at our order of service. This is just how Bob and I chose to structure our day- we had the legal marriage first and then wrote a religious blessing together incorporating both traditions and customs and had our friend officiate with members of our families reading religious passages.

(I will post up all the wording of the religious blessing soon. I figured it'd work better as a lone post than smushed in here. Also, more detail about the day will follow in subsequent posts.... I caught the flu on the plane home so I am currently losing the will to type... and live).

Note:
Again, incredibly sophisticated cloaking devices have also been implemented here to protect privacy.

Ta da! That's the end of the order of service. We wrote it like this because we were sick of going to weddings where we had absolutely no clue what was going on. So we figured, with this being a Mooish wedding, people would have even less of a clue. So we wanted it to feel inclusive, light hearted and entertaining.
Everyone commented on how tasteful and beautiful they thought the ceremony was and how funny the order of service was too. This pleases me greatly folks.

Also, did you notice the cheeky footer on all the pages? Muslim + Jewish = Mooish  < 3

It's all about the Moo.
