That Time I Was On Lena Dunham's Women Of The Hour

Well, hello there. Now, you may or may not have heard of Lena Dunham's podcast, Women of the Hour. If you haven't, I strongly urge you to have a listen. It's warm and insightful and chock-full of intelligent, inspirational women who will make you laugh and cry, possibly at the same time.

So, when I got the email inviting me to contribute to one of their episodes, I was a little nervous to say the least. The podcast is now in its second season (you can catch up with season one here) and this episode is all about faith and spirituality. I try to give an insider's perspective of what it's like dating as a liberal British Muslim woman and offer up some advice for fellow daters and anyone considering an interfaith relationship. There were so many fantastic stories in this episode, I could listen to these women talk all day. So, in case you now want to stalk them like I do, I've included the episode description:

202: Lena interviews her psychic Terry Iacuzzo, Nadia Hadid discusses dating while Muslim, nun Ana Martinez de Luco talks about her work with "Sure We Can" redemption center (sic) in Brooklyn, Eliana Sagarin talks about posing as nude Jesus for a painting class, a segment about a group of young black girls who praise dance in their church, and Elna Baker talks about dating and sexuality while taking a break from Mormonism.

You can listen to the full episode below or you can download it on iTunes, Stitcher, and all your other podcasting mediums (I use Podkicker). You can also stream it on Spotify and Soundcloud. Basically, short of me coming over to your house and reading it to you over breakfast, it's pretty available for your consumption.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was to be part of this episode. So much so, that when Lena Dunham called me an uber blogger, I nearly peed my pants.

What a lovely mental image. On that note, I shall leave you. I hope you are all well and the British amongst you are braving the terrifying winter weather. I know that most of us want to defect to Canada post Brexit but, come on, this is not what we had in mind. I thought it'd all be moose and Mounties and friendly people saying 'aboot', and that dog from Due South and Justin Trudeau feeding you poutines all day.

That's how Canadians live, right?
